Islamic Banking Online – The Islamic Banking Department at UIN Alauddin Makassar hosted an International Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in collaboration with the Association of Islamic Finance and Banking Study Programs (APSKPS) and the International Islamic University Malaysia. The event, themed “PBS Curriculum Based On OBE (Outcome-Based Education): Indonesian and Malaysia Perspective,” took place at the Remcy Hotel Ballroom, Jl. Boulevard 5/9, Panakkukang, Makassar, on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business (FEBI), Prof. Dr. H. Abustani Ilyas, M.Ag., highly appreciated the Islamic Banking Department for successfully organizing such an outstanding event.
"As the Dean of FEBI, I express my appreciation to the Islamic Banking Department for organizing this extraordinary event. It is remarkable because the department managed to bring in international speakers," he stated.
The speakers for this International FGD included:
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Romzie Rosman (Deputy Dean of Research and Innovation, Institute Of Islamic Banking and Finance, International Islamic University Malaysia)
- Jajang Abdul Karim (Chairman of ASBISINDO South Sulawesi)
- Muhammad Rahmat Amin (Head of Islamic Banking Licensing Subdivision, OJK Regional 6 Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua)
- Dr. Ruspita Rani Pertiwi, S. Psi., M.M. (Head of the Islamic Banking Study Program, UIN Sunan Kalijaga)
The event was attended by representatives from 68 campuses and included various activities, such as a panel discussion forum. In this format, several panelists discussed the predetermined theme, sharing their perspectives or answering questions from the moderator in turn. The FGD concluded with the moderator reading the minutes as the outcome of the panel discussion.
Meanwhile, Ismawati, S.E., M.Si., the Head of the Islamic Banking Department, expressed her hopes that this event would positively impact the economy and contribute to the development and implementation of an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum for Islamic Banking.
"Hopefully, this FGD will bring positive economic prospects and help develop and implement the Outcome-Based Education curriculum for Islamic Banking," she hoped.
